Alex Peltz is a Research Associate at the Feldman Lab for Pharmaceutical Policy at Outcomes Lab at UCLA. She earned her B.A. in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, with minors in English and Public Policy, and an M.H.S. in Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She previously worked at RAND, contributing to health services and economics research. Her research has focused on quality of care within healthcare systems and across insurance types, using claims and electronic health records to evaluate healthcare utilization, quality, and costs, with a particular interest in opioid use disorder, access to pharmaceuticals, and quality of care for chronic conditions. She led a cost-effectiveness analysis of the Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Team (START) randomized controlled trial, evaluating an addiction consultation service for hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder, and has contributed to research on quality of care for chronic conditions, high-deductible health plans, and healthcare market consolidation.
